What Are Pimples (Acne)

What Are Pimples? Certainly, most of us know what they are. We have experienced them at one time or another in our lives. But in the event that a definition is needed here is a short one. Acne (Pimples) is a dermatological term that includes clogged pores, nodules or cysts that are on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and upper arms. Pimples occur most frequently in adolescents, but are not limited to any age group, including adults in their forties. This disease has many varieties, and although they are not life threatening, the more severe cases of pimples can cause disfiguring, leaving permanent scars on affected areas.
The physical changes in body tissue - or lesions - pimples, the causes are five possibilities: comedos, Papel, pustule, nodes and cysts. Furthermore, these terms refer to or severity series with comedo (also known as blackheads and whiteheads) at one end and nodules or cysts on the other side.
As already mentioned, pimples occurs in teenage years most often, especially on young people aged between 12 and 17 years. Usually, these mild cases of pimples can be removed, with “over-the-counter” treatments and the pimples go away in the early twenties. It should also be noted that although pimples affects both girls and boys alike, there are some differences. Young men are more severe, long-time pimples in women can have or recurrent pimples well into adulthood by hormonal changes and cosmetics.

The hope is that the reader will come away have gained a clearer understanding of pimples, in its various forms, and how it can be fought against and to reduce their impact on the lives of those suffering from it. This is in no way a comprehensive guide on this subject and it is also not a clinical journal, but it is at least an introduction and a source on which to further research into the causes and treatment of pimples in all its forms.
