What is the easiest and most effective way to wash your back if you get pimples on your back?
I have several extremely noticeable pimples on my back. They are annoying because I use acne wipes to try to get rid of them. It is really hard to be able to reach behind my back to wash them. Nothing has helped and summer starts next week! Any products or methods that you have used/heard of that work are helpful. Thanks!!!!
I have problems with that too and I if I wash it in the shower once a day with an acne face soap and then use a moisturizer with benzol peroxide in it, it’s gone in like two days. I think the benzol peroxide is what really helps. Go to the store and look for a moisturizer with that in it. The one I have is by Clinique and it’s in a blue bottle. I’m not positive that they still sell it though.
Bacne, or back acne, is much like other types of acne. It is characterized by blemishes on the skin ranging from mild cases with pimples and blackheads, to the more severe cases, with pustules and even acne cysts. Back acne does not discriminate against any one age group, sex, race, or geographic location. It can literally strike anyone.
Many times when someone does get back acne, they are overwhelmed with the desire to cure it immediately. They feel like the discoloration or imperfections are all people will notice when people look at them. Below you will find the ten best ways to get rid of acne on your back.
1. If you want your back acne to clear up fast, a very important way to achieve this is to wear cool light colored clothes and to apply a little powder to your back. Doing so will reduce perspiration, the breeding ground for the bacteria that caused the acne. Also when you do perspire a lot, make sure to change your shirt so you do not get extra buildup.
2. When you do extended exercise or prolonged activities which require a lot of exertion where you perspire a lot, take a shower or bathe immediately. For the times when a shower or bath is not possible, at the least take a soft, clean, dry towel and wipe off your sweat.
3. The typical person will rub his skin dry after a shower or bath. If you suffer from back acne, it is important not to do this. Instead, take your towel and pat yourself dry. Rubbing of the skin can further the irritation and cause the skin to get more inflamed.
4. Use an anti-bacterial cleanser for acne. There are also soaps made to combat acne on your whole body, not just your face. Do not, however, use face soap on your back acne. This is too harsh and will not meet the special needs of your sensitive skin.
5. People who suffer from back acne should not use backpacks. Carrying a backpack can add heat to your already sensitive back. The added heat can increase perspiration and cause more breeding areas for your acne.
6. Using a benozyl peroxide mixture is still one of the best methods available to treat acne. However, make sure the gel or cream you choose has at least 10% benzoyl peroxide.
7. It is true that benzyl peroxide does work well, but there have been studies conducted wherein it was found that your acne will clear up to two times faster if you combine benzyl peroxide and a product containing alpha-hydroxyl.
8. There are also natural remedies available to deal with acne. Making and using a soap with sodium hydroxide (lye) and tea tree oil will not dry the acne but it will give you noticeably softer skin.
9. Exfoliating once a week is a good way as long as you pay close attention to do it on all parts of your body affected by the acne including, but not limited to your back and buttocks. This can be an expensive way to cure it but a less expensive option is to use sugar instead of the scrubs and cleansers that are available. Sugar will also remove the dead skin cells.
10. If your acne is severe, you can seek help from a skin doctor (dermatologist) Dermatologists help people with a variety of skin problems. A dermatologist may prescribe medications for your back acne problem. There are oral antibiotics, topical treatments, retinol and even oral contraceptives.
It is advised that you treat your back acne at the first signs of it. This can help to stop further spread of the bacteria and can also minimize the damage to your skin. The sooner you treat it, the sooner it will be gone.
These are the ten most effective methods available to treat and get rid of acne on your back. Remember to be active in fighting the skin condition. The more you know about what causes back acne and what to avoid when you have it, the sooner you can help your body get rid of it.
