Is my dad being ridiculous?
I’m 17, last weekend I needed him to take me and my friend (who is a guy) and I to the movies. When my friend got into the car my dad goes “Don’t you know that you’re supposed to hold the door open for the lady…why not show some respect to me daughter” And then he was questioning him about religion and what he believes (Because we were going to see the movie “Religulous”) He told him that he didn’t really know what he believes and my dad goes “Wow, aren’t you clever” When I got back home I was obviously mad at my dad and he is saying that I am choosing boys over him and he swears that this pimple I have near my lip is a cold sore I got from kissing. What’s wrong with him?
Dads are just like that. He doesn’t want to lose you and he realizes you’re growing up and you will be a woman soon. You will soon be old enough to get married and he’s scared you won’t be his little girl any more. He’s just nervous and he won’t think any guy is right for you because in his mind there’s not a guy out there who deserves you! You’re his little girl. It’s just what a dad does. I’ve started getting acne spots. How long do they last?
This depends on what type of spots they are and, even then, it can be very difficult to predict what will happen. Some spots will appear and then disappear during the course of a day but others will evolve more gradually through the various stages. Comedones can be very persistent if they don’t get inflamed.
Mildly inflamed spots will last 5-10 days before settling down, but can leave a flat red mark (macule) for several weeks. Nodules and cysts may last for weeks or months unless you get some treatment.
What is the difference between a whitehead and a yellow-head spot?
These two common terms describe quite different types of spot. A whitehead is a closed comedone where the pore is blocked and not open to the air. There is no inflammation (redness). A yellow-head suggests a spot with pus in it. The medical term is a ‘pustule’. Whiteheads may become yellowheads if the blocked pore becomes infected.
