Blackhead popping can be jolly good fun, and we’ve all done it at some point. You know the drill, bored at home late at night, washing your face or brushing your teeth before bed, and you notice a pimple that looks like it’s planning a hostile takeover of your face. So you pop it. The only problem is that when you pop it, you cause a ton of new problems for yourself. Don’t believe me? I’ll explain.

First problem is that popping it exposes the infected oil that trapped in the pimple to more skin, spreading the infectious bacteria and increasing the chances of getting more pimples. I certainly don’t want more pimples, and neither do you. So what should you do? We’ll get to that in a moment; there are more problems to go through.

The second problem that blackheads popping causes is that it stretches the pore, making it more likely to get toxins in it again, and thus become a blackhead again. The last problem is that because you’re basically blowing up the pore, the chances of a scar forming are much higher. Now, we can agree that we don’t want more blackheads or scars, correct? So if popping is out, what should you do?

Two choices: treat the blackhead topically, or drain the blackhead. Treating topically is too big a subject for our purposes, so we’ll stick with draining. Boil a safety pin (to sterilize) and poke gently at the blackhead, then scrape out the oil. If there’s some you can’t get to, get a washcloth wet with warm water (say that 3 times fast) and squeeze out the oil while covered with the washcloth.

Now that you know better, make sure to spread the knowledge! Don’t let your friends fall into the cycle of blackheads popping, which only causes more blackheads.

Should we or should we not pop a pimple? Others say that popping a pimple will cause a scar but others say it will never cause any.

Trying to squeeze a pimple will lead to infections but can you resist the sight of a puss infested bump on your face? Dirty hands and popping it the wrong way can put you to a more serious problem by pushing those acne bacteria in your skin.

There is a right way in popping your pimple and it is really quite easy. You can never go wrong. If you dare to pop that unsightly white bump, remember to follow safety precautions. Before popping your pimples these are the things you’ll need in the procedure: clean washcloth, clean towel, hand sanitizer, natural astringent, pure gentle face cleanser, 91% isopropyl alcohol, 100% cotton face pads or balls, stainless steel blackhead remover, aloe vera gel and ice.

Remember to wash your hands and face with a gentle cleanser. Use warm water (not boiling water) and antibacterial soap for at least 20 minutes to and to kill germs as well. Rinse it thoroughly and pat dry. For extra protection you can dab the acne with astringent to ensure that no germs and residue are left behind to avoid infections.

Get a washcloth and damp it with very warm water and press it directly on to your face, this is a method where you can open up pores and you can now easily to pop up that pimple and it is also less painful. Repeat procedure if the wash cloth has cooled off. Rub hands with hand sanitizer and place each finger tip of both index fingers on both sides of the pimple.

Squeeze very gently by adding a little pressure and pushing towards each other. If it doesn’t pop, just leave it and dab with astringent. When the puss finally came out wipe it immediately with a clean cotton ball or cotton pad and apply gentle pressure until blood is emerging, that is the sign that there is no left puss on your pimple and you should now stop and press it with a cotton pad to stop the bleeding. Let it dry and washed it again with a gentle cleanser.

Apply anything to cover on the pimple like an aloe vera ointment or antibiotic ointment and don’t touch it. Reapply ointment from time to time until the bump decreases, if it is still swollen apply cold compress on the affected area for about 20 to 30 minutes.

You can also use a stainless steel black head remover to pop up that pimple. By using a black head remover you can apply equal pressure on all sides. But remember to sterilize the black head remover with isopropyl alcohol for at least 1 minute before using it. You can also prick the pimple with a sterilized needle to force it open. Also take caution that some are allergic to aloe vera gel, itching and rashes are signs of allergic reaction to it and you can test it first on the inside of your wrist.

It is also important to use clean 100 % cotton balls and cotton pads to avoid cotton fibers sticking on your skin. If you noticed that your pimple are getting worse, it does not significantly heal after a week you can seek a dermatologist to inject cortisone to eliminate redness and swelling. Remember not to try to pop a cyst, these are deep, hard and painful pimples seen in people with severe acne. It should be treated with a dermatologist.

The largest organ in the body is our skin. In order for our skin to remain healthy, it needs to breathe. Tiny openings in the skin called pores allow the skin to breathe. Besides letting air in, pores are responsible for the production of oils used to keep the skin soft and prevent it from drying out. The oil is referred to as sebum.

Acne vulgaris occurs when there is too much sebum produced by the skin. The excess sebum accumulate on the skin surface, mixing with dirt. The resultant accumulation blocks pores, preventing the skin to breathe, and the production of blackheads or comedones. An unblocked pore can have bacteria develop, causing infection, and damage to the pore. The damaged pores lead to pimple formation.

Mild acne is described as less than 20 comedones, less than 15 pimples, or less than a total count of 30 lesions. In mild acne if not controlled and worsens, the number of lesions will increase. In severe cases, pustules can develop under the skin, producing cysts. Cysts are very painful and can leave permanent scars on the skin.

Fact! Teenagers are going through many changes in their body during this time of their lives. One change is the increased production of hormones, and is conducive to acne creation. The hormones are actually responsible for the increase in production of sebum. The blocking of pores becomes more prevalent, and with the skin unable to clear the excess sebum, bacteria sets up home, and acne appears.

Myth! Acne is not directly caused by the foods we eat. Chips, pop, and chocolate though not a well balanced diet have been proved to not cause acne. A well balanced diet is recommended, leading to an overall healthier life style.

Myth! Squeezing blackheads with your fingers can actually cause scarring and may even make acne worse. A metal device called a blackhead remover is the appropriate choice for blackhead removal. If no device, treatment by an aesthetician can also be beneficial.

Myth! Washing the skin is important in the removal of dirt and oil blocking pores. Washing too often, excessive scrubbing, or using products that are harsh to the skin may actually irritate the skin. Less irritating products like Dove, or soap substitutes like Spectrogel and Cetaphil are much more effective than medicinal cleansers.

Fact! Some cosmetics are oil based and will block pores and promote acne formation. Lighter and non-oil based products are more practical for preventing conditions promoting acne.

What treatments to control acne work

The simplest treatment is a twice a day regimen of washing the skin, with appropriate soaps and water. Non prescription medications available with Benzoyl Peroxide are the most effective. Benzoyl Peroxide not only unblocks pores but also kills the bacteria responsible for infection. The medication should be used regularly and applied all over affected areas. Commonly acne worsens upon treatment at first, but shows significant improvement over a couple weeks. Two other common non prescription products, salicylic acid and resorcinol are considered inferior.

When non prescription products are not effective, prescribed medications such as tretinoin, or topical antibiotics like erythromycin or clindamycin are used. Tretinoin is a powerful keratolytic that softens the skin and helps in the removal of sebum from blocked pores. The antibiotics kill bacteria preventing infection and damage to pores. If a more aggressive approach is required, oral antibiotics will be used. These also kill the bacteria but this time via the bloodstream, but are more effective.

When all other treatments have failed, Accutane may be prescribed. Accutane is a vitamin A derivative (Isotretinoin). It works by preventing the production of sebum, allowing pores to unblock and cysts to be eliminated. Accutane has many side effects and can cause birth defects in pregnant women. Most common side effects are dry lips, skin and even dry eyes.

One final consideration is natural or light therapy regimens. Though physicians turns to more and more harsh chemicals or antibiotics as regimens fail, have they truly checked out all therapies. If one were to research these alternatives fully, maybe more successful therapies could be discovered. Possibly these alternative could provide successful results without all the side effects. Vitamin E rubbed on the scar everynight will help. My sister was in a house fire and got cut with some glass from trying to get out of a window, her boyfriend got Vitamin E capsules and would poke a hole in it and rub it on the scars and the glass worked it’s way out and the scars went away. 4.Apply about half the egg yolk liberally to my face, neck, and I even try to get as close as I can get to my eyes, and under eye area.

5.Leave it on for fifteen minutes..(the egg should feel dry and tight), I get in the shower and as I begin to wash it off I do it very slowly allowing the skin to absorb as much as possible of the nutrients.

6.Slather the egg white onto my face, Wait for three minutes and then rinse.

you can do this before u go to bed and in the middle of the day or whenever just as long as its twice a day.

In a perfect world no one would ever squeeze a pimple and we’d all walk around with puss-volcanoes poking out of our faces, just waiting to erupt during our next casual conversation. Right? Yea, I don’t think so either. Maybe it is best not to mess with your pimples and to let them go away on their own, but what is best for our skin isn’t always best for our social lives. The truth is that we’re still going to squeeze and pop pimples regardless of the advice of well-intentioned dermatologists. This being true, you might as well learn how to do it right.

Getting rid of whiteheads

A whitehead is a pimple that has developed a thin, white tip — indicating that it is almost ready to rupture and drain. To properly drain these you will need a sterile pin or needle, clean tissue, and some freshly washed hands. You can sterilize your pin or needle under the flame of a lighter or in rubbing alcohol. Gently pierce the tip of the whitehead and then apply gentile pressure to the skin around the pimple — pressing down and towards the pimple. The idea is to apply the pressure from underneath it and force the puss out through the now-open hole. If it doesn’t seem like it drained completely, apply a warm, moist compress and wait a few hours before trying again. Squeezing too hard can cause the pimple to burst underneath the skin — leading to many more, smaller pimples. Wash both your face and hands afterwards.

Getting rid of blackheads

Blackheads are freshly blocked pores. When a pore gets blocked by dirt and oil, the blockage itself turns black, creating the appearance of a blackhead. These aren’t pimples yet, but can turn into them if they are allowed to remain clogged. The best way to get rid of a blackhead is to wash and exfoliate your face regularly. If the blackhead seems to be building some pressure underneath the surface, you can apply some gentile pressure around the blackhead to try and force out the blockage prior to washing. If washing and exfoliating isn’t enough, try a short steam bath, or hot towel over your face to soften up the skin and open your pores. Aerobic exercise can also help flush your pores and clear up blackheads.
